Around Town, London Town

To say that I had a blast in London would be an understatement. Though working, most of my work doesn't feel like work - simply because I love what I do. There was so much going on that it's kind of hard to recap, but I think these pictures are a pretty good jumping off place.

Think of this as part OOTD, blogger meet up, fashion show, cheesy tourist all rolled into one post.

I brought clothes to dress up for the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend fashion show but being a combination of stylist, model dresser, photographer, publicist and EMT didn't allow for a change. So here's what I wore! You've seen it all before in some variation or another, sans the earrings! Those are new :)

I stayed in the Shoreditch neighborhood in London. I. Love. This. Hood. It's part East Village part Meat Packing (a little reference for those of you who know NYC). It's cool and artsy, not fussy but with loads of amazing spaces, venues, restaurants and art on nearly every wall.

I was able to sneak in my cheesy tourist desires by snapping a bunch of pics with my new iPod Touch instead of walking around with a giant cannon around my neck.

The best part of the trip was that I got to meet so many international bloggers and had the best day shopping and walking around on day I was leaving. So glad for a late flight, I was able to squeeze in some girl time!

Below are a few outfits that caught my eye. The European girls really do turn it up!

  1. Hi Kellie B.! I love your blog as your confident posture, authenticity, and self-trust always inspire me. So here's my situation/question: I am looking to visit London this year for the first time, but I don't know where to begin! It looks so awesome (especially illustrated by your pictures) that I don't know where to go to have a true experience of its culture and all the city offers. My interests are fashion; particularly African derived and inspired fashion; women empowerment; cultural/creative events like film festivals; etc. Can you make any suggestions as to best navigate this upcoming excursion? I would so appreciate it!

    Thanks,

    Latonya

  2. Really like this outfit for getting out and doing things...polished but comfortable! I'm a little jealous because I'd love to be in London seeing the sights!

  4. I love all the leather details. My new favorite look is a leather jacket over a floral dress. Soft and sharp all at once.
