My boyfriend and I popped into Miami for a few days to work on a series of events and decided to give the new Sixty Hotel, Nautilus a try. Here's what I thought.
The recently renovated Nautilus is at the top of South Beach on 17th and Collins. I personally much prefer Mid Beach or higher because there are less spring break and teenage shenanigans but because of my guys work schedule we needed to be further down.
I'd first noticed Nautilus on Sixty Hotel's social media and was happy to see there were some pretty fantastic deals on my JetSetter app. We headed down for a Monday - Thursday stay, weekdays are always my favorite times to travel. Less people, more space for meeeeee...
Entering the massive lobby was both impressive and stress free. I loved the nautical stripes worn by the staff, the expansive minimal vibe filled with very cool "downtown" or, Wynwood Walls style art from local artists.
The staff was friendly for the most part, especially at reception, total doll. We stayed in a Deluxe King room which was a little small but very comfortable. The new renovations look great though I'm still not sure why hotels choose super flat feather pillows. Am I the only one that needs a pillow with a little bit of firmness? I will say the extra large trunk style minibar is the real stand out feature in the room. Very cool.
The hotel pool was really nice though we didn't have time to enjoy it but we did make time for a short walk on the beach. There are $25/day resort fees that cover two chairs and towels on the beach. We didn't have time for that either - hopefully next time.
We did manage breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Possibly my favorite avocado toast, ever.
